Using Eavesdrop and Call Barge

Eavesdrop allows managers to silently listen in on an active call from another extension. This can be useful for quality assurance purposes.

Call Barge allows managers to speak to the local party, remote party or both parties at the same time. This can be useful to provide information to one party for training purposes or to intervene on a call.

Security

  • Eavesdrop can be limited to specific extensions.
  • By default, eavesdrop is protected by a random 8 digit PIN.
  • To customize destination PIN and extension permissions, contact support.

How to Eavesdrop

  • Dial *33 followed by the extension you wish to eavesdrop on.
    • For example, while extension 110 is on a call, dial *33110
  • Enter the PIN number.
  • You will now be silently listening to the call (muted).

How to Barge

While you are eavesdropping on a call:

  • Press 1 to talk to remote party only
  • Press 2 to talk to eavesdropped extension only
  • Press 3 to talk to both parties
  • Press 0 to mute yourself again

Other Info

  • Simply hang up when you are done.
  • You cannot eavesdrop on an extension if there are no currently active calls on that extension.
  • When eavesdropping, you will initially be muted. Neither party will know you are eavesdropping.
